The 2019 Irvington Crab Festival takes place on Saturday, August 10th, and it’s going to bring hundreds of foodies together at the Irvington Commons. Bring Your Appetite
It might not come as a surprise that the Irvington Crab Festival will feature plenty of seafood! Doors open at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, and the event really kicks off once they start serving bushels of crabs at 5:00 p.m. It’s an all-you-can-eat feast, so feel free to take your fill! You’re also welcome to pair your meal with some of our medal-winning wines from The Dog and Oyster Vineyard while you’re there!
Explore the Museum
Don’t forget to fill your mind with fascination as you fill your stomach with tasty crabs! The Steamboat Era Museum will be open during the event, so curious attendees can explore the exhibits. One of the newest and most exciting displays is the Potomac Pilothouse that the museum’s staff has been restoring. It includes the crew quarters, captain’s quarters, and wheelhouse from a ship built in 1894!
Fun fact: The Potomac Pilothouse was once used as a summer cottage before it ended up at the Steamboat Era Museum!
