Exciting News from the Hope and Glory Inn and its restaurant, The Colonnade

Our Chef to Attend Culinary School at Ritz Paris

This summer, the Hope and Glory Inn’s Chef Meseret is taking a Sabbatical embarking on an exciting culinary journey to Paris and London! While she’s away studying at the prestigious École Ritz Escoffier, dinner service at The Colonnade will be paused in June and July. Located at the Ritz Paris, the École Ritz Escoffier is not only considered one of the two best culinary schools in the world, but the birth place of modern cuisine.

We’ll miss her thoughtful, artfully prepared dishes—but there’s no shortage of excellent dining nearby. Within walking distance, we recommend Salt & Meadow at The Tides Inn, 77 Social, The Office Bistro, The Local, Dredge, and Livvy’s Market. Looking to venture farther? Kilmarnock and White Stone offer even more great options—just ask us!

Chef Meseret’s time at the Ritz—an extension of her classical training from the Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts—will deepen her artistry and bring fresh inspiration to future menus. Auguste Escoffier, the first Chef at the Ritz Paris, is known as The King of Chefs and the Chef of Kings. Paris is the undisputed capital of luxury dining with 121 Michelin-starred restaurants.

Mark your calendars: Upon her return to The Colonnade, she’ll host a special Paris-inspired dinner weekend, August 14-17, featuring elegant, French-influenced dishes and stories from her time in the world’s culinary capital—on the plate and in person.

Bon voyage—and bon appétit!
