USA Today - Eleanor Griffin, the Editor in chief of Cottage Living magazine named the cottages of Irvington’s Hope and Glory Inn as one of her “10 Great Places To Rent A Cottage.” “For those looking to skip chain hotels and get off the beaten path,” Griffin picked ten “getaways with stunning views to pampering retreats, each promising something rare in mass market travel: a unique experience.”

Travel + Leisure named as one of their “30 Great Inns in the US”.

Frommer’s Travel Guide has awarded it with Three Stars ¬ its highest rating ¬ in its three most recent editions - 6th, 7th and 8th.

The New York Times
[Hope and Glory] “ likes to advertise itself as one of the most romantic inns in the country,” ...“that seems hard to quarrel with, but the description hardly does it justice.”

National Geographic Traveler
In its Trips section, there were three recommended destinations – “Jamaica, South Korea and the Hope and Glory Inn.”

American Historic Inns
A “Top Ten Most Romantic Inn in America”

Washington Flyer
"A Sanctuary for laughing souls." [Hope and Glory] "reflects life’s amusing twists and manages to create nothing short of magic"

Mary Engelbreit Living
"dreamy cocoons that make guests feel cherished"

The Washington Post
"I kept expecting Julia Roberts to waltz out wearing a sundress and some sort of accent and offer me an iced tea."

Richmond Times-Dispatch
"This masterpiece of whimsy and beauty, there is not an ordinary headboard in the place. Silly hats become lampshades, and curtains are tied with rope, ribbons or strings to tree-branch curtain rods."

Forbes FYI
"Though surrounded by a white picket fence, and a nostalgic garden, the sunny yeloow 1890's schoolhouse belies its Victorian exterior. Indeed the sense of humor throughout Hope and Glory will soon have you wondering: whats going on here?"

Coastal Living Magazine
"Rent the entire Inn - seven rooms plus four cottages - for a Big Chill Weekend or come for a refreshing interlude. It's whimsical, extravengantly romantic, relatively undiscovered and guaranteed to make you smile."

The Tatler Cunard Travel Guide
"The Hope and Glory Inn is so mad and has such pizzazz that it stops you in your tracks."

Southern Living – one of their “Four Favorite Romantic Getaways”

Washingtonian – named as a place to go for a “Dream Weekend”
