Irvington
In
Irvington, we are a bit different and we have many things
here that other small towns can only wish for. Come
here, stay with us and live the dream.
Today, we are still a small town
on a sleepy Virginia creek, a place you’d think
nobody ever heard of…until you glance at the guest
list of those who visit our town – Tom Cruise,
Mia Hamm, Bill Clinton, Beck, Stephen Spielberg, Sandra
Day O’Connor, James Taylor…
Irvington has emerged as a place
where “Manhattan meets Mayberry”. Our martinis
are as good as our lemonade. Our seasonal first Saturday
Farmers’ Markets fit well with cooking classes
and wine pairings. We blend uptown with down-home, cutting
edge with country…making what some say is the
epitome of the American Dream.
Unlike no other small town, we
can boast of a medal winning vineyard, a bistro, three
destination golf courses, a full service spa, cruises
on classic boats, a museum, an historic church that
can match the best of America’s 18th century churches,
a sailing school, kayaks and sailboat races and, of
course, our nationally acclaimed little inn. There are
thirteen chic and sophisticated boutiques including
an incredible four trendy womens’ shops.
Add to this a Norman Rockwell Fourth
of July parade and fireworks over Carter’s Creek,
Big Bands and the Air Force band, Grape Stomping contests
that would even make Lucy laugh, a Turkey Trot that
gets our Governor “in the running”; a Christmas
boat parade considered the best in Virginia.
Totally unconscionable in a town
of 673 people.
Irvington today, fun and
hip – a small town that knows how to be uptown
in the most delightful way. We are simply in a town
that enjoys the good life and we are willing to share
it with you.
